Lakshmi Ji

Namaste’stu Mahaa Maaye, Shree Peethe

Surapoojite,

Shanka Chakra Gaaa Haste, Mahaa Lakshmi

Namo’stu te.

I bow to the holy Mother, controller of illusions, worshipped in the Shri Yantra by all the demigods, holding the conch shell, mace and discus in her hands, I bow to Maha Lakshmi.

Maha Lakshmi Mata is one of the most prominent forms of the female shakti – energy of God. she represents prosperity and is recognized in the Rig Veda with her own ’Suktam’ – Vedi hymns, which are known as the Shri Sukta. Maha Lakshmi is the consort of Shri Vishnu. She was born at the creation of the universe at the churning of the ocean of milk and she came out as one of 14 auspicious things. Lakshmi Mata was from then worshipped by the demigods as controller of wealth, prosperity and material happiness.

Without money, in this material age, even pious acts cannot occur. Too much wealth blights the owner, but with Maha Lakshmi Mata’s grace, we ask that the wealth we receive be sufficient and be good money for good purposes, not for bad purposes. we pray that poverty of the mind, spirit and body be reduced to nothing by the grace of mother Lakshmi and may she forever reside in our homes, hearts and minds.
